I know all about the Fleetwood Evolution series. My question is are there any others out there like the Fleetwood Evolution that you can take off road? I'm not talking about the custom buckets that can be towed behind Jeeps on the Rubicon trail that is a bunch of compartments with a pop up tent on top. I'm talking about Folding Camping Trailers like the Fleetwood Evolution. Who else makes them besides Fleetwood?

I have the Jayco Baja Camo P/U and couldn't be more happier with it. I liked the outside appearance of the Fleetwood Evo but did not like the interior color scheme. The camo P/U I have has the camo matching interior. Has the front deck which is really nice, 15" off road tires and leaf springs with heavy duty shocks. Fleetwood dealer would not budge from price but Jayco dealer was ready to deal and I got 4K off the list. Good Luck in your decision.

Here is a review of Jayco's Baja 10Y Trailer.

Hope this helps.

Hummer H2 - Black (DW vetoed the Yellow one, but I got two Yellow Hummer Folding Mountain bikes )

Does anyone know why all the off-road folding camper trailers have to have that cargo deck on the tongue? I don't have any atv's or motorcycles and those extra feet would take up room in my garage. Also out of all the off-road folding camper trailers, which gives the most bang for the buck and is still high in quality?

The assumption is made that you will need more gear to be self-sufficient. It could be a generator, extra water/holding tanks, or off-road equipment. It would be nice to have an option without the front deck, the manufacturers are already targeting a niche market: hard to have too many variables in that niche.

Thee have been a couple of no deck models since they started making the "off road" PU's. Obviously they didn't sell or they would still be in the line up.
One thing to remember with these models the changes are basically only below the floor level. Walls, roof, appliances, and interiors are about the same as their "on road" bothers and sisters. So they won't take a lot more stress.

We don't have an ATV or motorcycle and love the front deck. Our bicycles, charcoal, water, table, grey water containers, etc. go on the deck. At this point, we don't carry anything in the tow vehicle when going on a trip.
