For whatever reason, the last couple issues of HIGHWAYS have omitted the listing of the VIRGINIA FALL SAMBOREE. This "Let's Go To The Hop" Samboree will be held October 17-19 2008 at the Rockingham County Fairgrounds, Harrisonburg. Registration forms are available at www.vagoodsam.org
The fairgrounds are located on US 11 just off I-81, between exits 240 (northbound) and exit 243 (southbound)
Come out and enjoy a low cost, relaxing weekend in the Shenandoah Mountains.

Was one of the best RV magazine for years but has been going down hill the last couple of years. They have dropped the chapter information totally and moved it to the web site which a lot of members either don't have internet or don't go on the site. Good luck with your Samboree, we just had a great one here in Michigan last weekend.

Dave, all the best with the Samboree.
Sorry we won't make it down this year, shooting for Spring. Started a new job and I don't have the same freedoms I did before. Wil lwe see you in maryland?

JT, Yes, we will be there. Here is my plug for that Samboree too.
MARYLAND FALL SAMBOREE, OCTOBER 23-26. The samboree is held at the Great Frederick Fairgrounds in Frederick, MD. What better way to spend two back-to-back fall weekends.
What I enjoy about the Maryland Fall Samboree is that special feeling it holds as the last Samboree of the season for most people in this part of the country. On Sunday, we say our goodbyes, and the "snowbirds" prepare to head south or southwest, while those who remain, are left to prepare thier RV's to be winterized till we meet again in the spring.
This Maryland Samboree will also be the grand finale for State Director Bill Brooks term. Anyone who has ever attended one of Bills Samboree's know how emotional he gets about it, and the outstanding state staff that helps him produce great samboree's twice a year. Join us as we say "Job Well Done" to Bill & Esthermay.

as usual the Virginia samboree will happen---the current director did NOT submit the info to Highways-Don't blame Highways Magazine-

Paul in hiding? I'm surprised, Paul is a great guy and being a director is not an easy job!! If highways doesn't get it at least 3 months ahead, it won't get in, they have the layout done a few months ahead...

Paul is not hiding. He has been dealing with some severe medical pain, and has been doing his best to keep up on the emails/samboree planning. We are all not perfect. There is more to a state organization then the state director. IF someone has a question, and they cant seem to get anything from the SD, then they should try another Staff member and they will get the answer for you.
I know this is not the forum for this. So lets get back to the facts...
