Just about to head North to Brooking, OR where we will be staying for 2 weeks for a bit of R&R and I have the fly tackle ready!

We have tried a bit of fishing on the Chetco River at Brooking and on the Rogue River up from Gold Beach by the State Park, but are there any fishemen out there with knowledge of the Southern Oregon fishing spots for fly fishing. We are after trout, steelhead and if possible salmon.

I am travelling with my 74yo father and we are bank fishing - no boat and all fly.

Any suggestions on places that are not too far away? I have the Jeep for off road access if necesary

Thanks all.

Thanks Tommy

They are drift boaters rather than bank fishing so not really what we want. The Chetco and the Rogue are both running through canyons as they approach the sea and a lot of the bank is privately owned so finding access points is hard unless you are native to the area or have travelled there for several years and know the area.

As my parents are flying in from the UK, I wanted to give dad an experience rather than ending up driving around aimlessly.

Thanks

May go up later in Oct. thinking of stealing a place on the river just out of Brooking. I like my subprime homes well broke and pretty.
