Gains can be spectacular but so can losses. No dividends or splits. Berkshire is not interested in selling to the common man. Right......wait until it's at a 52 week high and buy.
Congratulation on not buying a stock that has averaged and compounded at a 20%+ percentage rate for 42 years. Yeah, he's lost his touch with you. .

Joe, Several days go someone questioned your reading comprehension. I now also question it.
I did NOT say he lost his touch. I questioned it. He has recently bought into some great companies that have taken a beating. He started buying several weeks and the market has tanked well over a 1000 points since then. You have a post today that says we are not near the bottom.
I still stand by my statement that the AVERAGE investor can not afford the stock. Even 1 or 2 shares would turn the stomach of most people with the wild ups and downs that it has experienced. I can't afford his stock and doubt many on this forum can. The time for individuals to have bought into his company was at least 20 years ago and even then you had to be rich.
After finding out who he supports in the election, I believe that even as rich as he is, he has succumbed to the greed that many on this forum is complaining about.
There are many good companies that if someone had invested into could have made the same returns with splits, dividends and reinvestments at a much lower cost.
Berkshire has been, and I still believe, is a great company. It is going through the same tough time as all stocks.

11 Billion dollars a year.
I'm just curious about your statement you are tired of illegal immigration.... why do you re-elect those politicians who are draining your economy and getting rich off your system? That illegal immigration buys lots of votes and the politicians are not ever going to really attempt to stop it.
Why do they drive busses over to MX to pick up school kids not even citizens. Why provide extensive free medical to illegals, why must we make them citizens if they sneak over the border to have a baby. Why pay them social security and give them welfare.
I guess my real question.... why do we re-elect the morons running this country in the ground. And... it's easy to spot them, their faces are always blathering away on TV.
I try not to re-elect the same sorry people. They can't even pass a budget on time. But then again the guy running against the gy is probably just as bad. When it takes hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars that tells me its just a bought and paid for position. That money comes from somewhere and has so many strings it looks like a dollar bill wrapped in a ball of string. I agree we need to get rid of career politicians but the nect guy coming up is no different. Not sure what to do. I vote every year and sometimes feel it doesn't matter although I know it does.
Illegal immigratino is killing us in California to the tune of 11 billion a year. California was short 7 billion this year for the budget. Minus that 11 billions and we are in the black. But its an unpopular thing for these career politicians to do..that is cutting these "free" things to illegals. Its not free cuz someone has to pay for it.
