Definition: "Flashlight” "A containment vessel for leaking batteries."
Headwind: What you drive against regardless of your traveling direction.
‘’8 cubic feet - in 'fridge talk' , this means 4 CUBIC FEET’’ Actually the 8 cubic feet refers to the rough in area needed in the cabinetry to install said ‘fridge. (They just don’t mention that little tidbit of info in the brochure. )
Dump station: A parking place where you can take a 45 minute nap while the RV’er that’s there ahead of you is thoroughly cleaning, rinsing, and flushing his holding tanks.
Rest area: A parking place where you have an officer of the law knocking on your door at 3 am telling you that you can’t rest anymore – you have to move on. (Exceptions: truckers)
RV resort: A parking area for RV’s that’s devoid of trees and other vegetation, with spaces so close you can’t open up your slides, but is next to a golf course or casino, hence justification for the word ‘resort’ on the sign in front.
LP tanks: Fuel storage devices that require ‘qualified’ fuel service personnel (i.e. high school kid with a summer job) to refill. Refueling area also doubles as parking/rest area while waiting for the above mentioned ‘qualified’ fuel service personnel to actually meander out to fill said LP tanks.
Self-seeking satellite dome: A device that almost never lives up to its definition due to trees and foliage which block the signal most everywhere you park the RV. Exception to the rule: staying in RV resorts, which allows the device to find the satellite due to a lack of trees and foliage.
Suburban LP furnace: A heating system that fails to actually heat and blows only cold air when the RV batteries drop to only 97% of their charge level, thereby reducing said charge level eventually to zero while adding only 3 BTU’s worth of cabin heat due to a running blower fan.
Awning: Large folding canopy that creates gale force winds as soon as you leave the RV for any length of time.
Motorcoach resort: Snobby RV resort (see RV resort definition above) that does not allow even a $300,000 super class C based on Kenworth chassis because it is not a ‘class A coach’ Also, an RV resort that is the same as most RV resorts except overnight charges are $70 to $100 per night.
10 year rule: Snobby RV park that nit-picks every incoming RV regardless of pristine condition due to its ‘age’ (Would also exclude a fully restored 1958 Flixble conversion bus)
KOA Kampground: Large RV based childcare facility.
Wal-Mart parking lot: A temporary parking place for RV’ers who spend a night while traveling, and a generator of endless debate threads on RV.net that have to eventually be closed by moderators.
Pet exercise area: A fenced in area largely ignored by dog owners whose leash-less dogs run amok and leave excrement in high foot traffic areas.
Flying J: A petroleum corporation whose board members do all that’s possible to alienate RV’ers from patronizing their refueling facilities.
FMCA# F355513. 1997 Safari Continental, 40 foot, 1 slide. Cat 3126B, Allison MD3060. 2000 Durango SLT 4x4 toad with a Blue Ox Aventa II and stopped with a Brake Buddy.

Torsion Bar: Where you go drinking after you're "torqued" about backing into that tree limb
Awning: When you're so tired after setting up that you can't even add the "y" to what your face is doing
Dump Station: Redneck words for toilet
50 Amps: What the next campers teenage son plugs his electric guitar into at 10:00 p.m. every night.
and finally,
Black Water: Another one of the Clinton's coverups!
2008 Ford F450 Superduty Diesel dually
2008 Keystone Cougar 293SAB

Black and Gray Water Tanks: holding devices that many RV manufacturers think need to be the same size because you're supposed to use the same amount of water in the shower/sink as the toilet.
RV Repair Shop: Long-term storage
Flying J: fuel station that hasn't learned that you should never make it difficult for people to give you money.
Rest Stop: San Francisco bathhouse for truckers.

Power Converter: In cases of power surges and other electrical anomalies, a device designed to fail first to protect the fuse.
Fully Self Contained: an oxymoron characterized by requiring some external input such as water or electricity in order to be in effect.

RV -- A large aluminum box on wheels that sucks money out of your wallet.
Remote Boondocking site -- an hidden isolated spot with primitive unmarked road access and not marked on any map and you think you are the sole person to discover, only to wake up the next morning with 15 toy haulers filled with motorcycles, ATV's, stereos, and beer parked all around you.
Camping World -- the preferred bridal registry for two RVing singles tying the knot.
