I also have purchased several RVs. I would not pull out a deck of cards at a dealer's. I would think the dealer would think they are wasting their time and buyer is not serious.

Exactly! They are pros at making a deal, you cannot offend them by making an offer no matter how low. It is not the same as insulting a homeowner with a low offer. No worries, get in there.

In order to get the brass ring, you will need to reach out a bit farther to get it....otherwise you just keep going around.

Thank you to EVERYONE for not only encouragement but also for actual helpful hints to dealing. And I "get it" about the playing cards........."act like I could care less".
Thank you all so much.
Don't count me out, I'm reaching for the brass ring, I'll lean out farther.

I have read all of this stream and have been fascinated with it all. The wife and I are actually talking about going to Southern California from our home in Canada and driving home in our new R.V.!!!

This is probably the best advice i've come across so far as we get closer to our first motorhome to replace the tt. After all, the worse the dealer can say is no, and then our funds stay in the bank longer.

Now is probably the best time to buy an RV if you can swing it! The prices are the best I've ever seen - especially on used models!

Aging is an irreversable artifact of being human. My wife and I are retiring next summer come heck or high water and hitting the road full time. I am not going to sit in a dark corner with a blanket over my head. This economy of ours will vassilate up and down regardless of what I (or you unless your name is Bernake) do.

What you have chosen to do sounds like the right choice FOR YOU. Good for you! Just be aware that the world will keep right on turning and we'll see ya
