I purchased from them and it was a positive experience. I don't expect to use them for service though since I'm in Virginia. They were very cost effective and the transaction was handled in a professional manner in all regards.

I've bought twice from Albany RV, the RVDirect Albany NY store. Once in 1998 and again early this year. In 2005 we bought from another dealer (in the greater Rochester, NY area), but with this last purchase, we gave Albany RV another try. What a mistake.......
In 1998, we searched and searched for tyhe "perfect" PUP floorplan. I was out of town for work, when DW contacted me, and told me that she had found EXACTLY what we were looking for at a local RV show. She described the floorplan and the features, and it sounded right, so we decided to put a deposit on it with it unseen by me. Three days later, I returned and saw the unit, and DW was correct, it fit our needs perfectly, so we completed the paperwork and bought the unit.
About a week later, we arrrived at the dealership for our PDI, "training", and the delivery. After about 45 minutes of jerking us around, they finally admitted to us that they had sold the unit to someone else! And here we sat with a deposit paid and a signed contract, which included a VIN number. It took about 4 months, but they finally got us the "replacement" unit. They played the same "double-sell" game at a show this Spring with the daughter of a friend. Only she was smart enough to get her deposit back, walk away, and go elsewhere!
In 2005, we were searching for a specific floorplan HTT we had found on the web. It was a Jayco, and Albany RV is the local Jayco dealer, so we went to them to see if they could get it for us. They told us that it was out of production, and that there were none left available anywhere in the dealer network, then proceded to try to "hard-sell" us something else. We held-off, and shortly thereafter found the floorplan we wanted from a Jayco dealer ouside of Rochester (Palmayra), NY.
So late last year, we decide to once again upgrade. This time from the HTT to a hard-side TT. We search and search for exactly what we want, and the floorplan we choose is the Rockwood 2607. We find one, and actually go look at one about 400 miles away, but there were a couple of problems with it - they knew we were traveling 400 miles to see it, yet it was filthy, and had a flat tire when we got there! Albany RV is also a Rockwood dealer, so we give them one more chance...
During the two weeks that we are "working" the deal, Rockwood changes model years, and the floorplan changes dramatically. I know that this isn't Albany RV's fault, but it's something that we had to find out ourselves, and bring to their attention. By the time that we confirm the floorplan change, the 2008 unit 400 miles away is no longer available. They get the unit in for us, and it's missing a couple of features that were supposed to be included, like the ladder and the outside speakers. Thay add the ladder (no leaks yet!), but completely botch the speaker job, including mounting them improperly, too close to the ground, and damaging the right side wheelwell (they are that close to the ground) in the mounting process.
In short, if they have exactly what you want, in the condition that you want, for the price that you are willing to pay, buy it today. Otherwise, let the buyer beware! We won't be returning to Albany RV or to RVDirect, and they are only 10 minutes from my house, and 5 minutes from my office...

I purchased my Melbourne 27C through RV Direct and picked it up in Des Moines, Iowa. None of my local dealers was within $10,000.00 of the RV Direct price. The paperwork was handled by overnight mail and when I went to Des Moines the unit was serviced with full fuel and propane tanks. 3 hour PDI and I was on the road. This was by far the easiest vehicle purchase I ever made.

We purchased ours from Buffalo RV. Got a great price, that's about it. Referred 3 other families to them and didn't even get a thank you. Didn't want to set up our hitch. Wanted our $$ and for us to leave ASAP. Great price, lousy service. I don't really care, I'm too cheap to let it bother me. Love the 5vr and the Jayco product line...you decide...Good Luck

We are in the process of purchasing our second rig from Albany RV. We bought a TT from them almost 6 years ago and have had 2 other rigs inbetween that we did not purchase from them. We are not hesitating to purchase from them again because we feel that they have dealt openly and fairly with us. There is one particular salesperson there that we will not deal with but other than that, we have no qualms about them. We do not need to worry about their service department because my DH is in the RV repair business and he will take care of any issues we may have.
