don't think she's ugly at all.

You have to seek out the FMCA. Have you tried to join FMCA? Did you just assume she was UGLY and didn't give her a chance to blossom into all she could be in the FMCA?

Rustedponey: are you the problem?

First you do understand that was scarcasim, yeah I know it's spelled wrong, but I'm dead in the water without spellchecker---never saw much need for me to join them and this it the first I have heard this much about them and will probably be the last I hear this much discussion on them--and I looked again and yep she is still ugly that's how she got her name "The Big Ugly" but she was a great MOHO

If the FMCA wants to go from "class" to "type" for the designators, what is the problem? Maybe some members have felt that the word "class" was misleading to newbies and going to "type" clarified it better. I don't see a problem with that as long as the group remains the same and the people you know haven't changed, who cares? Pay up and enjoy the gathering. It is a small thing in the scheme of things and not worth the extra gray hair and/or getting upset about. IMHO If that it your biggest worry this week, you are doing very well!

My membership renewal arrived in the mail a few weeks ago and I decided it was time to ask the powers-that-be at FMCA, why they are trying to get us to call our motorhomes “Type A, Type B, and Type C”. I wrote a letter to FMCA and told them I was unhappy with their attempts to force “political correctness” on us and would not send my renewal until I received a suitable answer. Keep in mind that according to Webster, class can be defined as, “a group, set, or kind sharing common attributes”. I see nothing wrong with using that definition when describing any motor driven RV.

I received a letter from Mr. Don Eversmann, Executive Director of FMCA which in part read, “The term “Class,” …..could have other connotations and lead people to believe that it was an indicator of quality or that one “Class” was better than another.”

In other words, Mr. Eversmann was confirming what I believed which is that according to FMCA, “Class” is politically incorrect and might make some people feel inferior to others. Hogwash!!! People who camp do it because they like camping, and because they like being with other campers. Why else would we leave our homes and drive to a place where we are 10 ft. from our neighbor. What FMCA doesn’t get is that campers don’t care what other campers bring to the campground. We have an RV that suits our needs and budget at that particular time in our life. That’s it!! And I don’t appreciate it when OUR organization tries to create some kind of artificial caste system where one doesn’t exist.

My wife and I started out camping with a nylon tent and sleeping bag. As we grew older and our family situation changed we moved to a popup, and to a pickup slide-in. A few years ago we got a Class C, then eventually moved to a Class A. Nowhere in any of those did we ever feel either inferior or superior to anyone with whom we camped.

I mentioned to Mr. Eversmann that the political correctness that FMCA was attempting to promote was originally proposed by Mao Tse Dung in his book, “Little Red Book”. I am only pointing out that PC is a communist concept which we have no room for in the USA. I stated I am irritated and offended by PC in any form and that I was choosing to vote against this occurrence with my wallet.

I also advised Mr. Eversmann that I was going to post on this forum and urge other members of FMCA to express their feelings on this situation. FMCA is a membership organization. It is not owned by anyone but the members. It is up to the membership to make their feelings known on this issue and I urge you to contact Mr. Eversmann and let him know what you think about this issue. The address for FMCA is listed below, along with the phone number, and Mr. Eversmann’s email address.

This is how I feel about the situation. I'm sure some of you disagree with me and will tell me to get a life, or something else. That is what is so great about America and why I am protesting this, because I want to keep America great.

Remember, "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." (Edmund Burke)

After reading this a second time it is like it was written by a schizophrenic. The first sentence contradicts the rest of the post. Also why not posy Mr Eversmann's reply. All we get is your picking apart of it.

If I enjoyed a club, it would not matter if we were classified by type RV. Does it bother you that CG's ask for your type of RV? The OP feels this is taking PC too far, yet I think he is overreacting. It isn't like they were breaking things up by race or sex or something. Everyone in the club is a motorhome owner. Does the OP feel slighted that not everyone will know he has a class A?

My head hurts now.
