As mentioned, camping loops are not near water. We will be there again in a couple of weeks.

Come on guys notice joloote is from Florida and is well aware that gators rarely if ever bother kayakers.

You might want to look at Oscar Sherer Park in Osprey fl. There are spots right on the water where you can launch. We live in Sarasota and are close to either pk but prefer OS when kayaking. Good Luck either one is nice.

We stay at O.S. often and there are many sites on the water, however, launching from these sites is prohibited by campground rules. Doesn't mean that people always follow the rules.

True. Often I post messages for Lurkers who may not know regional info --like how big the gators are and how folks should be aware of them. That's all. Just trying to help readers get the full picture.

We have light weight kayaks, and there is no way I would want to carry them from there to the water.
