As mentioned, camping loops are not near water. We will be there again in a couple of weeks.

You might want to look at Oscar Sherer Park in Osprey fl. There are spots right on the water where you can launch. We live in Sarasota and are close to either pk but prefer OS when kayaking. Good Luck either one is nice.

We stay at O.S. often and there are many sites on the water, however, launching from these sites is prohibited by campground rules. Doesn't mean that people always follow the rules.

But there are others here who do not know this. And the word "rarely" concerns me a bit. When at Myakka this January, I will keep my distance from them.

True. Often I post messages for Lurkers who may not know regional info --like how big the gators are and how folks should be aware of them. That's all. Just trying to help readers get the full picture.

More people get killed in traffic accidents than any other way, and yet none of you bother to warn of this.I guess it is just a matter of what scares you.

hmmm...Soooo...There are no RV sites in Loop#1 close enough to the water to allow carrying the Kayaks to it without major effort?

We have light weight kayaks, and there is no way I would want to carry them from there to the water.
RV's go in both loops.
