Loaded question; has anyone looked into G Load Rated tires for the Silverado 2500HD? Would that entail getting new wheels too? Any real benefit to doing something like this. I am just looking into greater stability and higher psi. Not sure if I even need to. And if so, what brands?

look over in the TC forum as many over there use 19.5 or 16" F/G tires on their 2500 trucks.
Why not go with a higher capacity load range E tire ?? Can't tell by looking but you may be over your stock tire caps. Have you ever weighed the truck and in particular the rear axle as it carries the pin weight.

A 23% pin weight (2500# with a dry 10888#) translates to 3450# pin at trailer GVWR.
With NOTHING else in the truck that will put you 1000# over truck GVWR AND right at RAWR. And that does not include the hitch weight.
Heavier tires are a minimum!
At the risk of offending the folks who figure "It's OK, you can pull anything", I'm going to suggest that ANY trailer with a 15000# GVWR is too much for a 3/4 ton truck.
You will be pushing your GCWR as well.

I don't think G tires privide increased stability. Just an increased load capacity. With E rated tires, your already rated over what the truck is meant to carry.

Put those on at the required psi and it will ride like a rock and skitter all over the road.

That's what I was thinking especially when not loaded and towing. You can air down the E's and get a decent ride, but not sure if you can do that with the G's.

Also, it seems like G's on a 2500 is way overkill.

G rated tires will fit with 19.5" rims. Check out Vision 81 or Rickson wheels.

Toyo LT285/75R18E's have a capacity of 4,080 lbs @80psi and 225/70R/19.5G's have a capacity of 3,970 lbs @110psi.

Not neccessarily, I checked the spec's for my 2002, 2500HD GMC, and it is rated at 6,000# RAWR, and a GCWR at 22,000#. That should haul a pretty good size 5'er without overloading.

6000 lbs rear axle weight rating is not very much. I haul 3500 lbs of tools on my F350 and my rear axle is overloaded. I did upgrade to 4000-lb 100-psi heavy duty steel wheels and 3750-lb 80-psi 285-E tires, as well as heavy duty spring packs with almost double the stock load rating. Next on the list to upgrade is the axle and brakes. Planning on swapping in a Dana 80 with disc brakes from a Dodge dually and a Hydroboost and master cyl from an F450. Then the weak link in the chain will be the truck frame...
