The slide in my 5th wheel won't move. I can hear a clicking sound near the pump but nothing happens. Anyone have any suggestions??

What kind of rig do you have? Not that it matters too much, but might.
Fill in some blanks.
Do you hear the motor try to run? Clicking < not sure about this.
Are you hooked to shore power or battery? If battery, is it charged? Batteries could be weak and not enough to move the slide.

Check your battery. Clean the posts & re-try it.
I had the exact problem with my TT. The slide operation works totally from battery power, if the contacts are corroded or the battery is dead it won't move.
This was news to me too, I thought something major was wrong, one call to my local service tech and I felt silly. Good thing he's an honest guy and is glad to diagnose over the phone.

Another vote here for a weak battery. When we had our 5th wheel, the slide would only 'click' and not move when the battery was down. If the battery is in poor condition, even connecting to shore power won't help it.

Yep, not enough battery power....if it is electric (vs hydraulic), it cannot/shouldn't be able to draw enough through the converter. Plug in/charge 'er and try again. You could even plug in to your tow vehicle and while running try to use it.....Brian

If the clicking noise is just that "A Click" it would appear to be a low battery. On the other hand if it is a "Click-Click-Click......." You may have broken a shear pin !
Just food for thought!

Worse case scenario is that a hydraulic pump has to be turned manually. Most can be pumped in or out with a hex drive in a electric drill. The below photo shows the cover tape that usually covers the hole.

Good luck.

Thanx for the slide advice. The pump unit is manufactured by Dexter and can be manually closed but not opened. It only took me 35 minutes to crank it in with a screwdriver. Lots of fun.

I had that problem and got through it. Called a tech @ rv dealership. He suggested that I look under the slide and there is a bolt that will adjust where the gears will engage. Turn this bolt either one way or the other Just a little. Worked for me.
