Reasently purchased a 1999 fleetwood southwind storm 30 ft ford v 10. This is my first motorhome and I have learned everything using this site. Thank you very much!

I am installing a voyager backup and side cam system and have a question regarding the wiring. How do I determine where and what factory wires are used for the left, right, and reverse circuts that need to triger the moniter.

Any tips would be helpful

buy a 12 volt tester, turn on the blinker and use the tester untill you find the hot wire to the turn signal.

Yep, that's how I would do it.
If you don't have a tester, you can get one here:http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=98025

But where is that Hot wire likely to be found?

I Have probed every connector under the Dash and all the stuff coming from the Steering column but still can't locate the Power supply for the Turn Signal!

Guess I will have to use a separate switch to hit while switching lanes!

I decided to go directly to the turn signal for the friger wire. Also I am not going to use a triger wire for reverse, that way the backup cam will always be on.

Question on an associated topic - how in the heck does one run wiring for a camera (or whatever) through the coach? It seems unrealistic to try and snake anything vertically - has anyone done this?

Re Wiring!

You have to (I Did) use a combination of going through Cupboards and Closets until You can't go further Forward. Then down and underneath then back up and through the Dash!

Or Go Wireless!

Rob - funny you should propose such a method. That's 'zactly what I did when adding a light. It just looks tacky and appears amateur-ish. I wonder what the 'experts' at the RV shops do?

installation completed. I ran the camera wire thru back wall into cabinet, closet, thru floor and snaked up to engine compartment using alot of zip ties and siliconed all holes. The dash/speedometer area unscrewed to gain axcess for wiring and to mount moniter on dash. I got the blinker hot wire right from the front turn signal lights. (just 2 wires to test) I did not hook up to the reverse triger so the rear view will always be on the monitor unless a turn signal is on. The only area where you can see any work done is inside the cabinet over the bed.
