Is anyone willing to share their best sources for full timer insurance? I am not sure I'm getting the best price through GMAC and want to get a few quotes. We are parked this season, so we don't necessarily need the collision part of the insurance, but we do need fire/act of God/theft etc. coverage. Thanks!

I have had Foremost for about 10 years and have been very happy. On our old diesel 35' pusher it cost about $800 on our new (in 06) 36' gas about $1200 a year. They paid a claim for our old rig that was my fault and was about $8,000 plus putting us up in a motel for two weeks and didn't raise our rates at all.

Also on the homeowner part of the policy I keep very high liability and they include awnings and other things that most companies don't any more. They are a much better deal than Good Sam that I had before.

I use Explorer out of Dayton Ohio. They have a webpage. Underwrite thru Nationwide. Every year I check the prices, and for the past 6 , they have been the best for the money.

We went to GoodSams/GMAC about 2 years ago and have checked for better rates but couldn't find any. We had a claim with them on our truck this summer and it went well. I really think the big savings is having your tow vehicle and RV on one policy.....

Wacky - that's not how I read it Just said they are both covered by the same policy not that they had to be hooked to be covered. Like having multiple cars on one policy, I guess you can also have your TV and 5er or TT on one policy.

We use Progressive. I'm not sure they're the "cheapest" in town but they provide the best service I've ever had from an insurance company and that's more important to me. I had a very minor incident with a spanish speaker and they took over the phone call and handled the whole issue for me. No effect on our premium then next year and they cover pretty much everything including the awnings, liability, glass, etc.

Like trkr said...they're just under the same policy. Like having a multi vehicle discount. They didn't raise our rates either after my incident this summer...

Called our insurance agent Farm and Home Ins. Services www.rvadvantage.com for quotes on insurance on our new 5er. Since we have the truck insured with Progressive
I asked them about using them for both the truck and 5er. The result was $1300 for only the 5er (with only a $40 discount by doing both auto and 5er) and with National Interstate Ins. who we now have was $900 for the 5er. Guess no brainier on that one. That's only a couple of hundered more than we are paying now on a 5 year old 5er at a $55K replacement cost. And even that $900 quote should come back lower as I gave them the MSRP value ($80K plus) of the new 5er so the purchase figure will be much lower. We have found RV Advantage are the experts for fulltimers needs. Is that a recommendation... You Betch Ya...

Hi Travelers: I had GMAC through MONACO for about 8 years and each year it went up, when I called them they would say that TN had a rate increase, yea right. I recently checked out AARP (Hartford) and was able to get more coverage and save about $800 a year too. If you're 50 or betteryou might want to check out AARP. Happy Trails Bob W.
