Traveling south from Eagle Pass on Mex 57 can anyone pinpoint where the Checkpoint - Banjercitos is located. Church's says to purchase tourist visas or permits and vehicle permits near Cd. Allende but does not indicate where. Anybody out there tha can give me the directions, milemarkers, landmarks or anyother info to find it.

Two years since we took that route, but it was on the main highway near Allende.

No chance of your missing it.

From there straight to Saltillo.

There is an army checkpoint there going both directions. You can spot it from several hundred yards down the road---there's a series of toll-booth-like-gates and very large signs to your right. I'd have to say that this is my favorite entry and exit route in Mexico.

Last trip I also found out that the city of Sabinas has a nice Auto Zone, and that Auto Zones all over Mexico can get diesel fuel systems parts for GM, Ford and Dodge diesels

Also on the truck bypass around the west side of the city of Monclova, there is a gaudy orange color motel on the east side of the highway with absolutely nothing around it. Owner allows folks to boondock outside his apartment for five dollars. Better than trying to make it all the way to Saltillo.

We entered and left at Eagle Pass last year. We found it to be an excellent crossing and we will use it again this year. I can't remember how far it was but you will not miss it as you will run into it. We crossed early in the morning and had no problem making Saltillo. We stay at a very nice campground in Crystal City Texas that is about 45 min from the border. There is plenty of parking at the checkpoint as well.
