I was just wondering if this process is safe or not. Has anyone tried this? Thanks,

I am assuming you are referring to the small hand attachment. Yes it is safe to use, just try not to soak the foam or it will take a long time to dry. It is easier to remove the fabric from the cushion, most have a zipper, and wash it in the washing machine.

We rented a Rug Doctor steam cleaner from Home Depot and used the upholstry cleaner that is available with it. It worked great.

I use our carpet extractor on all our cloth furniture. It works great but like Hemlox says, be judicial with the amount of spray vs. vacuum that you use.

On our old TT we removed the covers and washed them on delicate cycle. Sprayed the foam with a bunch of Febreeze and aired them out for a couple days. Everything turned out great. TT smelled much better after all that.

I clean most everything from carpets and furniture in the house to the trailer with ours. The last time I was cleaning the carpet and furniture in the basement and ran out of the Bissel solution, used Arm and Hammer laundry detergent and followed up with a second pass using hot water only, everything came out cleaner.

I am going this route. Did you dry the covers in the dryer or did you hang them up. I am putting them on FLUFF AIR DRY in the dryer. I did put bounty fabric softner in the final rinse cycle.
Thanks,

I must say this worked out great! It is nice to know the cushions are clean via myself doing them.
