Hi there,
We're thinking on taking a fishing/camping trip to Lake Casitas in Ventura, California
We're looking for feedback on lake, CG and overall facilities.
We're also looking for good space numbers.
Any info is appreciated...

Its OK for a RV park, county or state not sure which, I'v been there twice, once in the full hook up section, and once in the water and electric only area. dusty spots if it rains it all ends up in the RV.
would I go again? NO. to many private CG to go to in the area with full hook ups.
Lake Cachuma not to far away from that area of ventura thats a good park with fishing full hook ups that will be my next spot when we camp again up that way.

We have been there a couple of times. I is a very large campground with many different sections. We don't go during the summer because the area is very hot and there is no body contact allowed in the lake. It is not a resort type camping. Most sites are dirt with some grass. Only the full hookup executive sites have pads like an RV resort.
We don't mind the dirt camping so it's not a problem for us.
One thing though...if you plan on bringing a boat you won't be allowed to launch it. They are attempting to stop the spread of the Quagga Mussels and all boats must pass a quanantine period before being allowed on the lake. Check out their WEBSITE for more info.

We camp there a lot. If you want full hookups request a site in the "Fox" section. Most of the sites are grass NOT dirt. Some sites you can fish right behind your RV. I highly recommend the following sites, Fox 1 - 7. These are good too Fox 13 - 40. Stay away from Fox 8 - 12 as these are in the dirt and the rest of the fox sites have no hookups.
As for the lake, there is no "body contact" with the water. But we have kayaks and just happen to fall off quite a bit...oops!! We have also been out on our boat we jump in anyways. We have never gotten a warning and everyone who goes there does the same thing. But if your worried about it there is a small water park, but it is VERY crowded in the summer months. Hope this helps.
