We found a beautiful and well kept 2004Travel Supreme with low mileage and best of all, it’s the right price. It appears to have everything we are looking for in a motor home. However, with Travel Supreme out of business, we are concerned about what happens if problems should arise. We know that the appliances and drive train would be covered by the manufacture if they should fail, but we would like to know your opinion before we make this Travel Supreme purchase (pros and cons).

Thanks for any advice...

Thanks,

As far as any kind of warranty, you are out of luck. However, there is a couple of guys from the old Travel Supreme factory that opened a service center down the road a bit. They do Travel Supremes and another High End Motorhomes. This works if you are in Indiana. Otherwise you are on your own. If I were in your position, I would buy it.

I wouldn't have any problems with purchasing it, the total coach is out of warranty anyway. There are competent shops out there that can take care of anything that might go wrong.

The fact that it is still one of the better-made coaches out there should be the deciding factor. IMHO. I feel so fortunate to have had one built for me and made right – truly a pleasure to drive and to spend time in.

Most TS owners did not dump the coach and if and when the time comes to replace we are so spoiled that it will be difficult to purchase a new coach from another dealer.

Like has been said if the coach works for you buy it service should not be an issue – great owner group and the Supreme Service Center in Indiana can answer questions and do service that is specialized.

Last point is the fact that Jayco bought all the plant and all the molds and parts so you will have a point to get things if needed.

Not sure what the "Right Price" is these days. I spend way too much time watching DP prices as I'm not looking to buy. Recently on Ebay a 04 Dynasty like mine -MSRP of over $360K did not sell and the highest bid was $140K which is over 60% off of original MSRP. A 07 45' Monaco EXE -MSRP well over $500K did not sell with a high bid of $225K or less than 1/2 of MSRP. It had 12K miles and every option you could add and the reserve was $289K. It seems like every week the right price is a lot lower. I would not be afraid of buying a orphan but at what price is the question and how much is a good extended warranty going to cost?

We considered an 04 TS Select with a tag that was very nice. In the end we opted for the Newmar MADP 4528 but we would have been quite happy with the TS.

I wouldn't hessitate to purchase a Travel Supreme. They are a very well built coach and being an 04 is most likely out of warranty anyway. Our last two coaches were orphans (1984 Travelcraft & 1991 Beaver Contessa) and kept them both on the road for about 6-7 years each, as a matter of fact they are still on the road with the new owners. Most items are not manufacturer specific and for the few items that are there is usually a way around that issue. If it is what you are looking for and within the price range you are looking I would go for it. Mike.
