Has anyone ever been to this factory in Chattanooga? We are headed to the mountains soon and we were wondering about this place.

Thanks to you all.

Let me know if there is an RC Cola bottling plant near it, OK?

Always a joker around. They actually reference that combination several times on their website. They call it a poor mans lunch or something. I would bet that there will be plenty of RC real close by.

I don't see it listed on Factory Tours USA , but I'm very interested. We will be there next week.

Rebecca,

There is an address and directions on the website, that is all I have to go off of right now. Hopefully, my email to them will be answered tomorrow and I will post updated information regarding hours of operation.

No factory tours here, but you can stop by to purchase Moon Pies by the case. ha ha I guess that's why it's not on Factory Tours USA.

Rebecca

The email I received:

Sorry, we do not give tours of the bakery. This is primarily due to insurance and health guidelines.

We do, however, sell MoonPies (by the case) to the public directly from the lobby of the main office. Also, we have a small display case in the lobby with some of our MoonPie merchandise for sale. If interested, please feel free to drop by. We are located at 900 Manufacturers Road and are open Monday thru Friday. The best time to come would be between 8:00 a.m. & 3:30 p.m.

My SIL's company built one of the machines that make the pies. It is too bad you cannot see this thing - it is huge! Something like 100 + feet long and 8 feet wide. I never got to see it in operation, but it was assembled and running at the shop before they broke it down and shipped it. He actually got a patent on some portion of it, something to do with flipping the cookies over before the marshmallow is applied.
