I have a 2004 Monaco Dynasty 42" with Aqua hot. The systems works very well, I have had it serviced, burner/filter changed. However there is often a diesel fume odor in the bathroom which is above the exhaust pipe for the aqua system. This was also prevalent before the service work was done. Windows/roof vents are closed yet the odor persists, especially in the am. If I turn on the heater/fan in the bathroom the odor goes away. Lastly the exhaust pipe appears well and in tact. It is not an overpowering odor but definitely noticeable and at a level it would be nice to rid of it.
Any idea's of what this could be and what the fix could be would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave

There was an aquahot recall at Foretravel for that issue on my 2000. I do not know what they did but it was fixed. The 2001 does not have it so I would check and see if you have all the lines caulked.

I would check seals in that area. Probably fumes traveling up through plumbing for the Aqua Hot system.

Under certain conditions mine also did the same thing so I made an adaptor to attach a Gen-Turi exhaust to the Hydro-Hot exhaust. I don't smell the exhaust any more and I'm sure if one is parked next to someone else in a campground they like not having it blowing at them. Marty

Is this a diesel fuel or exhaust smell? If fuel smell, you probably have a leak in the system somewhere, probably at the fuel filter. If this is the case, you should take strong and immediate action, raw fuel dumping somewhere in your coach could make for a very bad day.

I would suggest it is an exhaust odor, not a raw fuel situation. Lots of good ideas here, thanks for your suggestions!!

If your air to fuel ratio is not correct you will get an exhaust smell and you will hear it at the exhaust, Sounds like a rapid pulsating noise. Look at the exhaust closely while it is running. Light blue smoke too much air. Light black smoke not enough air, Clear exhaust is correct. Air is adjustable

The exhaust on our Beaver is similar. I made this venturi out of materials at hand. Not real attractive but it sure works. It does not leak exhaust into the bathroom with the vent closed and we run the bath exhaust fan when we shower to keep moisture to a minimum.

I also run a Sewer Solution. We are at the kids place in the Northwest and getting ready to winter over and will heat trace and insulate the lines.

Check the air intake under the coach that feeds air to the Aquahot. The rubber sleeve has a tendancy to close up and restrict the air flow into the burner. That will make the fuel mix too rich which will make it smell and smoke.
I cut out a metal mesh to put up there to keep the sleeve open.
