Tiffin front axle of 12,000 to 12,600 seems light. Beavers is 15,160.
Beaver uses a 23,000 lb drive axle to get its cargo capacity up.

HELLO driveby we are out of here december 2008 after ten years on this side of the pond. We hope to arrive in the USA 10m december and go get the motorhome as soon as possible. We noticed some used units very low miliage and seem to be well equipped but to see is to believe money is not burning a hole in my pocket if you get my drift. I have learned patience in the Asian cultures and time is on our side if this crisis moves to bring more pressure on the real price.
Thanks for your reply

Consider a couple year old Prevost. They will be around. Marathon and Parliament are well healed as converters. Consider Foretravel- Strong coach also.

Hi Furfuz copy that had a situation here where we were under heavy pressure to vacate an area and the engine mechanic on the boat would not leave his baby a cat diesel engine it impressed me so much that this guy would be that loyal never heard from him again but he was good enough to survive and keep his baby running smooth for whomever wanted him to. The cummins and the cat are equal as you say we run a fleet of dump trucks for mining operations all cats and they have been there for us seems forever. Maybe we get used to reliability but these cats keep on and on.
Best regards

Hi briteskys we have searched the available units and keep coming back to tiffen and beaver i am surprised that both use assembled wood instead of full panel doors on cabinets they use a butcherblock approach and when they stain and finish the differences in the grain patterns and where the wood is glued togeather out of dissimilar woods it is painfully obvious to me that they are cutting cost this way. The full panel stained and finished is such a little thing but its right out in front of us and to me its a flaw. The quality suffers if this is acceptable. My Grandfather would roll over in his grave to see that as he was a master woodworker and demanded the best I got the scars to prove it quality is quality there is no substitute for lack of it thats the american way.I have seen these people here stand in line to get american products and they treasure the quality and we often go for price as opposed to what is the best.A doctor friend of mine in california had to replace his kenmore washer he had for fifteen years and the new kenmore is made in china and is all rusted out after two years but the price was right. I figure we get the best once and enjoy the quality of american made. Regards Paul

If quality workmanship is something you value, then you should have a look at the higher end Newmar coaches. Our Mountain Aire has solid cherry cabinetry and the workmanship is excellent. The wife insisted on this as ruled out any coach with "picture of wood" type surfaces or anything that wouldn't stand up to her strict standards of excellence. Look at the Mountain Aire or Essex line of Newmar coaches, you'll be very impressed with them.

We are impressed with our Newmar. Ours is gas but the quality is still the same. This past summer we were at the factory to have some minor work done. The service was great and less expensive than a dealer would have charged.

The Zephyr is on a Spartan chassis, the Allegro Bus uses freightliner, spartan and Tiffins own powerglide chassis. I wouldn't worry about Tiffin not being around, they will be one of the last ones standing. They have built their business on customer service and there is no other company that can match it.
