Very interesting post. I have a six year old stationary Kingdome that just quit and was ready to upgrade to the Kingdome in motion as recommended by Kingdome. Now I am not sure if this is the way to go or not. I will be following this post with great interest. There seems to be a lot of problems with the Kingdome in motion systems.
I have friends with Kingdomes on their MHs. When I was considering what to put on my MH, they all said not Kindome. Makes you go hmmmmm ...

If you absolutely must have in-motion, your only choice is a dome system. But, why not install a Trav'ler with a DVR and let the kids watch yesterdays cartoons while your are traveling?

As previously mentioned, install a Trav'ler and watch TV when you are parked! no muss, no fuss. Any channel, on any receiver, at any time. It is also the only way to have DirectTV in HD without a ground dish.

Well.. I will tell you my saga

Ordered a MOTOSAT system.. Dealer installed wrong one (Failure to understand what I very clearly told him I guess) Visited MOtosat and they swapped it out, full credit for the wrong one.. Greatly improved the install.

Next problem was a minor adjustment.. No charge

Next problem was total control box fail,, Again no charge

Works great now

I had a problem with my KD unit after several calls etc, the problem was fixed. The Techs were always very helpful & took as much time as needed to help. The end result was my power charger was week not sending out the 24 volts required for proper operation. Once I replace the power supply, problem was solved. Maybe u should check the output on going to controls. One thing they told me was to unplug the power supply in storage for a while. Good luck

I can concur: while I did have a lot of problems with my dome, the support techs were very friendly, helpful, and willing to spend a lot of time working with me.

Albeit I authored this thread, I will agree the techs were helpful, When I have made contact, however it all gets old after a while. Further, last two times I have called, they have not returned the call. With that, I call the sales department knowing there will be a live human being there interested in a sale. They, then, will attempt to get me through to a tech.

I have a King Dome in motion and it is the cable wrap version. It has worked flawlessly until recently. I took the dome off and found lots of plastic filings, looked inside the dome and see where the dish has been scratching into the plastic, hence the filings. Blew them out and I put it back together.

The problem I have is the dome being a cable wraped version, there is a stop to reverse the dish to come around the other way and re-lock on the sat. I find when I go off the highway on an exit ramp and end up going in a circle, the dome loses the sat and can't refind it, even in an empty parking lot. I end up shutting down the system and turn it back on after a wait (say an hour) and it picks up the sat and works fine again, until the next off ramp.

Glad I bought an extended warranty on the dome. I have an appointment next Saturday to have it looked at.

An update, a sharp tech at CW found my King Dome was missing the small spacers that go between the top dome and the bottom housing. It was a fix that came out a while back and my dome did not have the spacers, probably b/c Winnebago bought a huge batch of KD's a while back and mine sat in a warehouse somewhere until my MH was built (2007).

Anyway, the tech added some small washers the lifted the dome up just a little bit and solved my problem of the LNB contacting the dome inside when I drove down a highway off ramp. Ran the MH around in circles and drove it all around Sat and Sunday, it works great.

Best Regards!
