Stony is good all year (summer = dust and heat 100+). It does snow int he flats, but not enough to keep you away. Now when it rains they have been knwo to close the bridge and people have been stuck int he flats until the water goes down. Might not be a bad thing eh?

You could get into the two main staging areas at Foresthill and camp. They have wet wetaher/seasonal closures, so read up before you head out.

Fried Turkey eh?
Not to rain on the parade, but....
If you liked the flats as shown in the pic, the 20-24th would not be the same. Stonyford attracts everyone and their brother on the holidays. The only open ground on a holiday weekend will be the 20-ft swath for rigs to pull in and out.
Not to mention arriving on T-day itself would lend you to parking in the driveway rather than the perimeter.
I will try and dig up a photo of Pres Weekend.

The Holiday weekend in the following weekend 27-30th. I'm sure there will be more ppl then the pics I added but don't think it will be that bad that weekend. I think we will be going.
As to the drive in well yes there are a couple pucker corners, "what would I do if there were two rigs on this corner" feeling but most of it you can see other rigs coming. It's not that bad unless it is really busy on the road going in/out.

Oh, OK then. I have been the weekend preceding T-day and we even found an individual spot. Much lss crowded than the holiday week.
Usually all rigs are going same direction In on Fri out on Sun. only day trippers with small vehciles may meet you coming the other way.
Maybe I can get out for a day trip. I'll keep an eye out if I am able tomake it.
