My wife and I went out on our traditional Fall ride. We go out each fall, when the leaves are at the peak of colour .

One ride is about 90 miles south in a beautiful river valley. Steep hills with well maintained dirt roads, in Canada, close to the North Dakota border.

The river is a medium size river that meanders through a rolling farmlands.

The other area is east, close to the Ontario border, right in rugged Canadian Shield. It's a provincial park with many winding roads through thick forests with lots of lakes, streams and a few rivers.

Both sites are photographer's delights.

What do you do in the fall in areas that experience colour changes in foliage ?

My dad lives in Alabama, we live in Georgia. Our favorite drive is the same no matter what season it is. It's a small rural road between Cedartown and Cave Springs Ga. Cave Springs Rd. A small creek runs beside the road and the trees create a canopy that is either really green or flame colored depending on the season. We always try to make sure we leave Georgia in plenty of time so it's not dark when we travel this road. It is very narrow.

I don't really have one. Most of the areas I like to travel to have mostly evergreens, so we don't get a lot of fall color.

We just got back from Deals Gap. We drove the Tail of the Dragon on the V-Max. Great drive, I didn't notice the tree leaves,... to busy looking at the road.

With the prodigious power of your V-Max, you don't want to crank too hard on that machine.

I think the best way to enjoy fall colours is on a motorcycle

•Driving around Parke County, Indiana during the annual Covered Bridge Festival which runs for a couple of weeks each October.

Why - Trees changing to glorious golds and reds, around thirty covered bridges to walk over, drive over, or just look at, creeks to splash around in. LOTS of people enjoying the sights, smells, food, and sounds of crafts, products, yard sales, and flea market booths.

•A couple of trips through the Smoky Mountains.

Why - LOTS of hills covered with trees turning colors.

My favorite Fall drive is up SH-88 in California from Jackson to the state line with Nevada. I help put on a memorial golf tournament every October and I always take 88 to Tahoe. There's usually good leaf peeping in Hope Valley and right near the intersection with SH-89.

Just came back from a 2 day Fall drive, through south western Mb., by the Pembina Valley, through th Turtle Mountain area (which is a sacred area for both Canadian and American Indians), through Riding Mountain National Park, where I narrowly missed running over a good sized Fisher.
