I have a shure flow water pump in my 5th wheel
Every once and a while the pump kicks in for about a second and stops when there is no call for water. I have checked every fitting and valve I can find and I found no leak.
Any ideas ?

Sure, it is the internal check valve leaking back to tank. Not a big deal IMHO. Every water pump I have ever owned on every RV has done that from time to time. Now, if it is running constantly then there is a problem.

I once turned the outside shower off at the head but left the valves on. The dribble would cause the pump to cycle every so often.

I had the same problem. Turned out the pump head would allow the pressure to bleed back into the tank thus causing it to cycle to build pressure. It would run for about a second every five minutes or so. Good news- Shurflo replaced the pump under warrenty. Problem solved.
