First of all....is your rig infested? - if not, don't bomb it.
To answer your question, no, they are not all that safe for you. If you must use one, make sure that you completely AIR OUT your trailer before you use it.

Personally I bomb my RV's about once a year for good measures. There is no telling how many spiders and other creapy crawlers you have picked up while out in the woods and it is a simple solution. Like mentioned before, just be sure to air it out thoroughly before use.

Before you set off a bomb, MAKE SURE all pilots, or any flames are extinguished!!
You can set off a fogger in the middle of the 5ver on a box with newspaper under it. Open up closets, cabinets, etc so the fog can get inside. These work VERY well.
Keep the unit closed up for a minimum of 24 hrs. Open up unit and air out after that period and wipe off any counter tops, tables, and flat surfaces that may be touched by little ones.
You should have a good kill.

We "bombed" our last TT several years ago when we had ants take over. It was a last resort because we were heading out at the end of that week and it was a Tuesday !! Black Flag bombs placed at the front and rear of the TT. All cupboards emptied and doors left open, mattresses lifted and under mattress storage area open. No more ants after that.

Thanks for all the advice everyone. I know about using bombs in the house, just wasn't sure about a trailer. Happy Trails to everyone.

My 5th sat for two and a half years. I took it out in September after checking the tires, brakes, and appliances. No bugs! If you don't have bugs, take it out and enjoy it.

The last time we put the trailer into extended storage, over 6 months, we set off bug bombs just as we closed the door for the last time. We had also done the dryer sheet thing & scattered moth balls all around.
6 months later it was opened for the first time. The odor of moth flakes & dryer sheets still lingered in the air.
There were NO bugs to be found anywhere.
