My wife always calls motorhomes RV's and evrything else what they are(travel trailers, pop-ups, etc). I correct her and say they are all RV's. She said vehicles have motors. I looked up the definition and she was right. I guess we aren't RVers anymore. We are Travel TRAILERERS.

Don't feel bad. The DW always tells me to go out to the "trailer" to get something. We have a C! Last "trailer" was in 2005.

After so many years of being married, I tell her OK, I'll go out to the "trailer".

It has taken me 5 yrs to call the MH a coach and I still occasionally go to the "trailer". What's in a name, anyway?

You may want to rethink this and tell her she's wrong afterall.

Dictionary.com defines it as a means of conveyance or transport. If it had a motor, it would be a "Motor" Vehicle.

Other than a tent - which is camping in its' next to purest form - everything are RVs. From MHs to vans to popups, they are all RVs' You can call them what you want, they are RVs. Calling a MH a coach was a marketing ploy by manufacturers and dealers to make them sound fancier, better, and - naturally - more expensive. They are still MHs and, with few exceptions, always will be.

I'm sorry, but as a female I have to disagree with your wife.

There are all different types of RV's and all websites and magazines articles I've read agree with me. To help choose your RV, they specify all types from PU's to MH's and everything in between.

BTW: DH doesn't like me to call ours a trailer. It's a 5TH WHEEL! So I expand it with it's a 5th Wheel Trailer. End of discussion.
