I have never heard of such a ferry. That would be about 30 miles up the river. If there is one I would like to ride it of not too expensive.

We've been the valley for 5 winters now - no such ferry. There is a riverboat cruise out of Mission but that is the only cruise boat I know of. There is a ferry at Ebanos for foot passengers only - you can even help pull it over, if you like. The RG at that point is about 50-60 ft wide. No town on the other side for a couple of miles or so.

Here is a page with the TX to Mex border crossings. The only ferry is at Los Ebanos. The Los Ebanos page says that it can carry 3 cars and 12 passengers at one time.

There is a lovely bridge across the Rio Bravo that takes you from Progreso, Texas to Nuevo Progreso in Mexico. the only ferry on the river is the on that wandering mike talks about above. It is hand drawn with hemp rope and I don't think you'd want to take a motor home or fifth wheel trailer aboard.
I think the person is looking for a ferry from Progreso in the Yucatan. Even so, there is no such boat that would take you to Brownsville, to the best of my knowledge.
