Has anyone ever stayed or been to Lock and Dam Park outside of
Rome, Georgia. I have some work to do in Rome the last weekend of October and this is where I was directed to stay. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

From 1999 thru 2003, I spent many a DAY at this park, fishing, daydreaming, walking, etc. I have never spent the night there. And frankly, during my many visits, I would not. There are rv spots, fhu, etc, but IMO, this park is used by the locals for events, parties, day trips etc. It is a great history lesson, and a wonderful fishing spot.

Personally, I think you can find a much nicer place to stay rather than this setting. Unless they have changed, that is. But I doubt it. This is our course just my opinion.

Sloppy Floyd State Park is located about twenty minutes north of Rome. I have stayed there several times and would recommend it.Sites have w/e only but they do have a dump station.

The problem with sleepy floyd is they lock the gates at night and dont open till the am. There are several rv parks out 20 west of Rome that might suit you better, and one in Cartersville. You may want to check out the mobile home parks in Rome, as several have rv spots for rent.
