We spent most of the spring and summer traveling with our little 17 foot Oliver, and I'll say it's one of the best summers of my life. It was fun to get up, pick a direction and go... or not. At the end of the day's drive,we fit just about anywhere, sometimes being directed to better spots in the tent section... We saw some incredible places, parks, and scenery taking life in the "small lane" as another poster so aptly named it.
The best parts of the summer? Either because our trailers are small, or because we bought them because we really like being outdoors, we have found that the small trailer people are usually outside... and open and inviting. We've met some great people, shared dinner and stories, and had a blast. Looking forward to next year!

I would have to agree. We have a large Fifth-wheel and a small travel trailer. When we are in our small travel trailer we spend much more time outside. Your Oliver is one of my favorite small, modern travel trailers. Life in the "small lane" is great.

I have a 16ft Casita and really enjoy it but with my daughter getting older its time to upgrade. I really love the look of the oliver but I am concerned they are new. Could you provide your buying experience and if you had any regrets.

Thanks Kevin

We scaled back some years ago from a 28' to a 20' for just the two of us and we would have to agree with seadawg.
We enjoy the smaller unit much more as both of us are the outdoor type and mainly use the TT for showers and sleeping (and maybe that morning cup of coffee). It has allowed us to set up camp at places we would not have considered with the larger unit.

Glad you had a great summer.

We love our small trailer. We have a 13' Road Runner and many people stop by for "a look" inside. We eat and lounge outside. We can fit anywhere that a pop-up trailer can fit. It really fits our needs.

I can't agree with you more. We have stepped up from PUP's to a 13' Coyote. We had our first trip with it last weekend, and just love it. We are leaving on Saturday for a week in Upper Michigan and looking forward to it. One thing we would notice with the larger RVer's, is they would be spending more time in doors, rather than outdoors. We purposely bought a smaller trailer, so we would not be spending our time in a house on wheels. Not to mention the better gas mileage we get pulling a smaller RV.

Yizit's comment about better gas mileage with the smaller trailer is interesting. Our larger and heavier trailer gets better mileage than our smaller and lighter trailer (by about 10 feet and 2500 pounds). Our larger trailer has a more rounded front, propane tanks inside the body of the trailer, and has a fully enclosed underbelly making it much more aerodynamic. Weight is not the only factor in the gas mileage issue.

I also get better gas mileage with my 30' 5ver than I did with the 19' hybrid and there's 3000#+ difference. But we still spend as much time as possible outdoors.
