Nothing to be concerned about.
The grades on I81 in that stretch are not steep at all. Infact I don't think there are any really steep grades on I81.
I81 is your standard width for an interstate highway, certainly not narrow.

A good place to stay at Natural Bridge Virginia, is Yogi Bear campground. It is right pass the Bridge and it is nice. We traveled from Greensboro, NC up 81 to Pennsylvania, hills not to bad and 4 lane highway all the way. We have a 36ft Coachman with tote and with friends that had a 3/4 ton Dodge with a 32ft TT.

I'm a flatlander, not used to hills, and I didn't think the hills were bad. I had to touch the service brakes a couple times, but the exhaust brake took care of most of it. I'm at Natural Bridge right now after spending the night, and I-81 to the north of there is a good road. I'll see the southern portions when I break camp this morning.

I'm at the KOA. It's all mostly gravel and narrow sites cut into a small hillside. Not somewhere where I would like to spend a lot of time, but good enough for spending the night. The office staff are very friendly.

The grades on I-81 are not bad. I-77 going up Fancy Gap Mtn. is the steepest grade.
We live in Wilkes. We towed our 34ft 5th wheel with a Dodge Diesel 2500 up there in June going to PA and in Aug. going to Natural Bridge. No problem!

The only problems you will have on I-81 is the heavy big truck traffic .
