In our Jayco Designer, the dinette light fixture that is attached to the roof of the slideout has come loose and is currently hanging from its wires. I tried to put the 2 screws that used to hold it in place back in but it seems that they only went into the wallboard that is also on the ceiling of the slideout - the screws don't go into anything solid.
Any ideas as to how to secure the light fixture to the ceiling? Is there something similar to a drywall anchor that could be used?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Molly Bolts, or Toggle Bolts. Both are used on dry wall and hold well.

I had the same thing happen in my Jayco Designer. I think that they miss the solid area when they mount the light. Mine fell when I was out west & I had to fix it right away before returning home to New Jersey. I used toggle bolts & have gone about 25,000 miles since then. The light is 12 volts so you don't have to worry about electric shocks when you're working on it.

Or if, as in my case, there is truly nothing but a hole there, cut a small piece of thin wood a little longer than the space it needs to span, put glue on it, insert it so that the glue side rests on the back side of the present surface. Wait for glue to dry and put original screws back in through that wood.

Thanks for the tips! I'll look for some molly or toggle bolts that match the finish of the light fixture.
Joy - I do like this idea but unfortunately there is only 2 small screw holes and 1 hole the size of a dime for the wires so I won't be able to put a piece of wood in there.
