HiLos are heavier than, say, a comparably sized TrailManor, but assuming the weights are within the limits of your vehicle I would be concerned about the short wheelbase of the Liberty. I had a HiLo and had a scary sway incident with my truck involving a passing semi, so my hesitation arises from that experience.

What size HiLo were you towing and with what vehicle?

We had a Jeep Liberty and test towed a 17T Hi-Lo on city and highways, with semi's passing. We did not experience any problems. However we really liked the additional space in the 22T Hi-Lo which would have been too much trailer for the Libby so we traded it in for a Jeep Commander. So most of our experience has been with that combo (22T/Commander) which has been the best set-up for towing that we have had so far. If not for liking the 22T floorplan better we would have kept the Libby and bought the 17T. The only thing we did not like about towing with the Libby was having the spare tire mounted on the back for hitching.

the trailer better have good brakes. my friend had trouble with his Liberty stopping a small aluminum boat on a trailer without them. and yes a Hi-Lo is lower than a TT but it certainly is not low like a popup or something like that.

yep, my friend had to get a hitch extension for his boat since the spare was in the way. and those reduce tow ratings so be careful there.

We had a 24' hi-lo for years and towed it with a ford expedition. This was a pre-slide model and it weighed 3400lbs. We hardly knew if was back there except for the occasional sway - esp if you try to go to fast. The sway bars are a necessity! We also got 13 mpg while towing. BTW we loved the hi-lo! I think they are a great travel trailer. I also think you'll be happier with the 17' than the 15'. The extra seating capacity will be something you will not regret having!

You are fine. I would look at a prodigy brake box with boost or a P3. But you are within your wheelbase ratings and weight will be fine just get something to boost your stopping power
The Liberty is more than capable of towing that. We have a Dodge Nitro the same vehicle as the Liberty. We towed a 25ft and it was too long but weighed 4800 loaded and it handled the weight like a champ.

Good luck and have fun

Looks like a great set-up, you will have a great time camping! If you are worried about pulling a trailer, I would suggest buying a great book called, "THE NEXT EXIT" it tells what gas stations and restraunts have room for you and your trailer.
