On my HTTTH there is a small piece of pipe between the water line bypass valve and the water heater. There is also a length of pipe between my fresh water tank and the valve I use to winterize by sucking antifreeze from a jug. Both of these lengths of pipe are NOT protected UNLESS I put some antifreeze into my fresh water tank, and run the pump a bit, and allow some antifreeze to get into water heater. I choose to protect those lengths of pipe. In over 12 years I have not had any problems flushing them, or with freezing. Your choice.
If you leave the plug out of the water heater, you may find insects have set up housekeeping in there come spring. One poster reported bees in his. I do not leave the plug out.

I am now trying to winterize my camper.
I went camping last week and drained out my gray and black tanks.
Today, I ran my clean until empty.
I drained out the water heater.
I hooked up a air line to the water inlet and flushed out each faucet, shower, water heater, and toliet.
I then turned the bypass on the water heater.
I drained out the water filter.
Now, I think I'm ready to put the anti freeze in but not sure how to do that. Do I put it into the clean water tank? Or do I need a hose to hook to the city access to suck it in to the lines??
This camper does not have any more bypass lines that I can see.
See the pics...
Any help would be greatly appreciated...
