I agree RV batteries don't last as long as batteries in common cars, but I think for different reasoning.

When any battery looses it's charge, it is more easily frozen in winter temperatures. RV's sitting throughout wintertime slowly loose their charge, then freeze, then loose their performance.

Assuming your RV is kept outside all the time, and sees harsh winters. The best thing you can do for all your RV batteries, chassis and coach, is store them indoors at room temperature. The second best thing is having a solar panel on the roof to maintain the batteries. The 3rd best thing is having two of those cheap dash board solar panels. One plugged into your cigarette lighter for the chassis, and another plugged in elsewhere direct to the coach batteries.

Keeping them charged keeps them from freezing. No freezing, no problems.

My RV batteries last me twice that of what you people say they should, but I've parked my RV's indoors in above freezing tempertures since 1988.
