I have a question. The hose that comes out of the frig. (behind), is crimped from factory. I thought it was suppose to be open so that it can drain. True R False? 99 Arctic Fox. Thanks, Jesse

The end of the hose is partially crimped or on others a plug with a small hole inserted. This is to keep critters out and to keep cold air in the fridge. The end often clogs and you have to unclog it. My current unit has the plug and I have to poke it with a pin when I see it isn't draining. Previous one had the crimped end and it also clogged. Simply flexing it usually was sufficient to open it.

SHOULD be crimped or have other restriction. If not, lots of hot air would RISE up the tube into the refrigerator and ants, etc crawl in.

From your question I will bet you have a Norcold refer. The WHITE drain line looks crimped on the end but it is not. Doug

If it is a dometic there is a plastic "plug" in the end of it (It is a critter block) this hose needs to be extended through one of the holes in the cover so it drips outside the rig

If you have a Norcold... Please disregard this post as i don't know that make.

Looked at mine like Jim&Peg said. It had plug with little stopped up hole. Pulled plug, cleared hole, put plug back. Ah, NOW it works right and drains!
