can I ask a serious question? Why do you care what the roof looks like and why is it necessary to remove a spot?

I would be more conserned about the run off onto the painted surfaces than the bleach hurting the rubber roof.
Just be sure to wear white tennis & white socks or else you be mister tye dye.

Dicor's website for their epdm rubber roofs used to recommend using bleach for mold/mildew removal but I just checked and currently they recommend using Tilex (and warns about danger to painted or aluminum surfaces). It also notes that mold and mildew do NOT attack the membrane but is unsightly (I guess it is if you're tall enough). Here is the link: Mold and Mildew

For me a dirty roof means a dirty windshield when it rains I get some nasty stuff from the roof I have used some bleech from time to time and my roof is just fine

My roof gets very dirty/moldy. In the FL sun, it increases the heat inside... a bright clean white roof reduces the interior heat
