We pulled our Suzuki Sidekick (As you probably already know, the Tracker was a Suzuki Sidekick made for Chev) for over 50,000 miles with all 4 tires on the ground. It is a 2-WD 1997 short wheel base 5 spd stick. I put the trans in nutral, ACC, bungy loosly from under seat to steering wheel to prevent wheel lock-up on tight turns. I have never stopped to run the engine, even if I tow for multiple days. It has never given me any trouble. What a great tow car!!! Only 2340 lbs with a full tank of gas and the tow bar installed. 114,000 miles and only put a timing belt in it to make sure that the original one didn't break (the original belt didn't look bad when I took it out). I hope you like your Tracker as much as I have liked my Sidekick.

Do you know there are '2' positions of ACC on the Tracker? One allows the steering to lock the other it will 'not' ever lock the steering wheel. Took me a few times to figure that out.
And if you have an older 4x4 Tracker with auto hubs, you CAN change them to manual hubs to tow four down.
