We opted not to have an oven in our camper. My grandson LOVES biscuits so what we do is fry them in a pan on top of the stove on low heat in a covered pot. If you get the flacky kind you can pull them in half after you have cooked both sides and that will give you two fresh sides to fry. Use this technique if you have trouble getting them to cook enough. They will rise just fine but if you have too much heat you can burn them before they get done all the way through

Good Lord ..... I'm well past 50 and never thought of this!

We have been dragging a "toaster oven" around just in case we want biscuits. We rarely have hookups so the whole toaster/convection oven really hasn't been working for us. THANK YOU so much for pointing out a simple way to solve the problem!

That's what we do. We often make lunch that way when we're on the road. Prep at breakfast time, then plug in timed so we can stop for lunch.

OHHH, dessert!

I often make ice cream in the summer. I cook the mix at home, and bring it in the freeze can. I then run the ice cream maker in camp with a small inverter.

No good pictures though...

Inside the camper, we make alot of Slow Cooker meals plugged into the inverter, while rolling down the highway.

Yeah, I've heard that you're really good with that dutch oven cooking

Do not forget the drinks. A reminder for those of you that are in the know, and an idea for the new folks. You can leave your blender at home. In the spirit of one device with multiple functions (and to minimize storage use), you can use your macerator as a mixer. It does a good job with Margaritas, Slurppies, and vegetable juicing, just to name a few.

It is 12-volt, therefore does not need an inverter.

Making very strong Margaritas first is preferred. This will kill any bacteria, in the macerator.

And here all this time I've been having my blender double as a macerator!

A macerator...now that's classic!

We've been making Taquitos for the past few trips for breakfast. This recipe makes 10 of them and they heat up great in the microwave for a quick breakfast. I just prepare them at home before we head out.

Taquitos:
1 package Jimmy Deans sausage (we use Hot even though I don’t care for spicy foods)
1 package soft tortilla shells (10 pack - I use the ones from refrigerated section)
1 dozen eggs
1 package shredded cheese
1 jar salsa

Directions:
Brown sausage. Mix in eggs. Set individual tortilla shells on squares of Glad Press N Seal. Place a row of shredded cheese on tortilla. Place sausage/egg mixture on top of cheese then roll into taco shape and seal with Press N Seal. Store in Ziploc bag (gallon storage size works great). When ready to eat, microwave for approximately 1 minute. Pour salsa on top and enjoy. Delicious! Dave.
