It is going to be windy until Tuesday of next week. The Santa Ana's are predicted through the canyons in southern California.
I have attended several balloon fiestas in Albuquerque, and it is not the first time they have had balloons fly into the powerlines. Fact I lived in Bosque Farms for eighteen years. And the power lines west of the field are a problem. I missed this years fiesta but I probably will try and make it next year.

The AT&T ballon landed within 20 feet of our MH Thursday morning.

That is a very good friend of mine, Scott McClinton. I've been his crew chief on a few occasions, including his ride balloon at last year's Fiesta.

The accidents are very unfortunate and sad to hear indeed.

Not on the balloon fest but I was in TN near sieverville and was eating dinner and watched a balloon start to decend. I followed it in the jeep and watched it aim for this large field. Well the wind popped up and it hit the house next to the field then popped over the house and landed on the other side stuck between the house and the truck in the yard and the wind swirled backward and well it was interesting to see.
