This race was an excellent example of the superior manufactured drama which NASCAR has developed. IMO it was a great demonstration of auto racing and showbiz. Measured by the big crowd in the grandstands and the giant TV audience, it was a huge success. I was impressed by the large number of competitive brands/drivers/crews.
Finally, nice guys finish first. Congratulations to Jeff Burton and his team.
YES, the Chase works.

Congrats to Jeff Burton and his crew. One of the quiet ones, who do their best every race and does not look for a camera after every race or incident.

Yes, it was a pretty exciting race and this years Chase seems to have its share of emotions and excitement. More so than previous years, I think.
Who at the beginning of the season would believe that either the Biff or Jeff Burton would be an honest contender pick? I didn't. I really thought that Jimmy pretty much had the most opportunity to win it (still do) but I really thought that Kyle would run away with it if his hot streak was any indication. (Sorry, but glad to see that "hot streak" come to an end.)
Jeff certainly deserves that win, Congrads.....

I watched Victory Lane on The Speed Channel and John Roberts, Jimmy Spencer and Kenny Wallace commented that a large percentage of the crowd got up and left after Junior ran into the wall.
I like Junior, but there is no way I'm leaving a NASCAR race early no matter what. I've got way too much $$$ invested in tickets and travel to get there in the first place.
Unless of course, the race get cancelled.
Congratulations to Jeff Burton--he seems to be one of the "good guys" in NASCAR.

I went to the race on sat and didnt notice a mass exodus when Junior wrecked. Most people stayed until the end. Only people that stopped for autographs were Jimmie Johnson, Bobby Allison and Bill Elliot. Jeff Burton blew us off twice. Bobby Allison was cool. I remember in the early 90's at Watkins Glen you could pretty much talk to any of the drivers I guess they are too much like rockstars now to care.
