I have a class A, but I need to replace the small, but pricey Velvac brand exterior mirrors. I am considering trying to mount a pair of Kodiak mirrors. They are much larger than my current mirrors. I have two questions: Can someone provide your overall vehicle width? From the outside of one mirror – through the cab – to the outside of the other mirror.
Second question. Do the mirror arms have multiple detents? Can they be locked in the folded forward position? What I would like to do is mount them and then have the arms/mirror heads pushed out in front and spin the mirror heads so I can use them by looking out the windshield. Essentially using them as front mounted mirrors. Are these mirrors that flexible?
The issue is I am concerned about the mirrors sticking too far out. My RV is 96” wide and adding an addition 38” of mirrors may be a bit risky.

Our Kodiak is covered for the winter. So info is from memory.
Kodiak mirrors are mounted to the cab that is 6'6" wide. They stick out to a position that looks down side of 8'6" coach sides. There is only one indent for positioning mirror. It is slightly toward rear.
Mounting is not flush with side of cab. It is recessed about 1 1/2".

I have a 2005 Kodiak 4500 work truck, and just went out and measured it. It is 9'2" wide to the outside of each mirror. They do only have one detent slightly to the rear as posted earlier. But they do swivel all the way forward and back, and don't know if it is possible to move the detent.
I also swiveled the mirrors forward. You will not be able to see the drivers mirror through the windshield at the point where it would be useful. And the passenger mirror can be seen through the windshield, but it is right at the edge of the windshield and right inbetween where the wiper wipes and the edge. So I wouldn't do this and it wouldn't be much use in the rain or if the windshield is dirty, plus there may be a little distortion since it will be in the curve of the windshield.

I bought a pair of these and mounted them on my class c. They are made for the Kodiak, and not really adjustable except for the mirror itself. The mirror head will not move at all unless you break out the grinder. Their is only one detent on the arm but, I have been using my passenger side in a non detent position without problems....it is stiff enough the the wind does not move it. Also they are designed to mount in a hole...not a flat surface. If you are very inventive...you could make them work, but they are in no way a "bolt-on"
