Was your's incorrectly mounted so it folds toward the front of the vehicle? This way would allow wind from traveling down the freeway to cause it to rise. One other questiion. Do you line up the arrow inside your unit so the antenna lowers in the correct direction? If the antenna was mounted backwards by the manufacturer, they should replace it no-charge.

The antenna plastic body that raises up and down was facing front to back. The wing shape of the plastic part was facing into the wind.
as far as the arrow lining up, the thing shouldn't lower completley unless it is lined up. That puts the poles into the little cradle on the swivel..
no lawsuits here!
Just an accident, if you read my first post, I already replaced it out of my own pocket.
Sometimes things just happen.. and then you fix them
that is one thing I have learned about having a TT, even a 2007 new one. Things break. Some will be under warranty, some won't

In our park here, someone lowered their antenna without lining up the arrows inside. Part of it is hanging over the side of the RV.. he will be surprised when he returns and sees it! Paint the little arrows with red nail polish if you have to!!!

GEE WHIZ!!!!! Did I miss something. GDEtrailer is writing about lawsuits. I dont remember the OP mentioning a lawsuit anywhere not even a casual mention. Does this mean I MIS-UNDERSTOOD the OP? or is GDEtrailer hinting that they would sue the pants off---if this happenned to them? As far as the antenna being mounting unside down WHY NOT!!!! they could have mounted the rubber(middle) piece right and the batwings upside down. MISTAKES happen everyday in "high speed manufacturing"

Chevyman,
that is was it looks like to me, the "batwings" were upside down on my factory installed unit when compared to the used one I bought to replace it with.

Just be glad you didn't do like I did when I got my TT...leave it cranked all the way up and drive down the road. Not only did it ruin the antenna, but it actually bend the arms and messed the inside crank unit...as well as the roof itself.
I was surprised at how many people were waving at me as I pulled out of the campground. I thought they sure were nice people. Little did I know they were trying to get my attention to tell me it was up.
If I don't meet your expectations
Maybe you should lower your standards.
