Ham and Eggs: A days work for a chicken, a life's work for a pig

The chicken is involved in the meal, but the pig is committed.

I don't believe my ancestors worked their way to the top of the food chain for me not to eat meat.

That said, I was driving through the rural portion of Georgia where I was raised last weekend. It's not so rural anymore, but more than that, many of the beef and dairy farms are gone. I mentioned to my wife that I used to go with friends to the cattle auctions and now, they would have nothing to sell. All of our beef is raised in feed lots and fed almost all corn. We see every other industry maximize profits in whatever way possible, and I suppose that's only natural for our food producing industries, but although the end result is the same, it just seems different. I'm not trying to make a moral judgement here, just stating a fact.

Nothing at all wrong with not eating meat ever again. Not sure why people get confused and can't understand it and want to try and make you eat it. Anyway, to each their own............

I tried being a vegetarian once, I quickly gave it up after driving down a country road and seeing a field full of steaks wearing leather jackets.

I see it as the opposite, alot of vegetarians I know think we are bad people for eating meat, I won't critizize people for not eating real food if they won't press there hippie tree hugger beliefs on me.

You are what you eat!

Cows and pigs eat grass, corn and grain. Ergo, they are "veggies".

I eat cows and pigs. Ergo, I am a vegitarian.
