When I bought my 2005 Springdale TT, they installed a Voyager braking system. I've had it less than a year and it has already quit working. Can anybody suggest a good electric braking system that's easy to install myself?

I've had the Voyager for 3 seasons now and it works just fine. The Voyager is also made by Tekonsha, just a step below the Prodigy. I myself am thinking of going with the new P-3 for next season though. Looks to have some pretty cool features.

Also, I know with my truck and current control, it was pretty easy to install. Just needed a wiring harness and adapter and everything was just plug and play. Tekonsha makes a variety of adapters. Check out that route.

Upgraded from a Voyager to a Prodigy in June this year, and I've pulled from Albany to Boston, Albany to Assateague, MD, and Albany to Dover since without a problem. The Prodigy is tremendously smoother than the Voyager.

The Prodigy took about 15 minutes to install, as it plugged right int my firewall electrical connector. Another 15 minutes to adjust it to the trailer. Easy job...

The Prodigy "may" plug right in to where the Voyager is pluged. If so. Just use the same bracket. 5 min work.

Did you have to change any of the wires on the pordigy plug or was it just a plug in and relocate the mounting bracket for the P-3?

If the Voyager is not working there is a reason for it. I know all the Prodigy sales force think they are doing you a favor but you need to diagnose this problem first as it may have nothing to do with the controller. Once everything is working then a switch, if needed, is in order. I used a Voyager for many many years without any issues whatsoever. I now have a Reese something another.
