Is there a definative list of all the different model numbers and letters for our TT's? Is there no industry standard here?
It is confusing to see 24RLS on the side of one and find out it's a 26 or 27' unit. Or 266RLSS and it's a longer TT too. I saw one the other day listed as a 266RELL-GL and was 29'. ?
Then there is BHS, RL, RKS, FLS,etc, etc...
As a matter of fact our '99 Rockwood has 2502 ultra lite on the side of it but it's called a 26' and as of yet I have not found a Rockwood 2502 Ultra lite listed anywhere, period! Not on forums or manufacturer's websites.
There ought to be a law........

The only thing I have found to be accurate on the model designation is the letters.
BHS= bunk house with slide
RL or RLS= Rear living or rear living with slide
RKS= rear kitchen with slide
Ect,ect.... the numbers have no real value. We have a 31BH. It is actually 33'-11". It does have a 2 bunk house in it. It also has a super slide. Go figure.

Well some are no problem to figure out but others, well? Like a recent post about an Artic Fox 22GQ. 22' no problem but what do you think that GQ stands for?

Since different makers produce their own lines they can call it what they want. Most letter designations and numbers have some significance.

Model numbers and designations are ONLY THAT and relate only very loosely to length and then on only SOME brands. It's always easiest to look at size from a separate viewpoint and not try to fit into a model number. While you MAY be able to make some assumptions by those RK (Real kitchen) RL (Rear lounge) or BH (bunk house) I wouldn't COUNT on it in all cases. Even THEN they are not legal definitions so if you REALLY need to know, either ask or look at the RV.

As a rule, just add two feet to the model designation. This will get you close 90% of the time (the more letters that follow the number, the longer the unit).

From what I understand, the model number often refers to the inside usable floor length, front to back.

There was a time when the manufacturers used a model designation that was the actual length. Now they want to get you confused. Best to get the brochures and find the REAL overall length.
