This is my solution for powering the Harbor Freight Magnetic Lights while using my tow dolly. I bought this 4 flat to 4 flat AND 7 round adaptor. I cut off all of the wires to equal lengths and attached them all to this 7 blade plug. All 7 wires are attached so the adapter will work with any configuration. I plug the adapter's 7 pin plug into the RV, then plug the dolly's 7 pin plug into the adapter's 7 pin socket and the magnetic lights 4 pin flat plug into the adapter's 4 pin flat socket. It appears to use 16g wire for the L and R turn signals and the tail lights. It appears to use 12g wire for the other 4 wires. This is the result.

I've never seen one of those adapters, and I have looked.

Yep, I have a 7 pin to 4 pin. I have a 7 pin to 6 pin. But, a 7 pin to dual 4 pin AND 7 pin? Nope, I have never seen one, don't have one.
For the purpose to which the OP intends it, it is a fantastic idea, one that should have been made available by all dolly manufacturers long ago!
I installed that dual connector socket on the Tioga, and I have one to install on the Rubicon. IMO, it is right up there with many other "Greatest thing since sliced bread" items. I may install one on the Dodge one of these days, and get rid of the 7 pin/4 pin adapters that are always in the way when I don't want them, and never where I can find them when I need them.
Bobbo, good thinking, in the best tradition of American ingenuity. Have you thought of starting a "cottage industry"? I bet there are more than a few people out there who would like to have such a gadget, but don't want to make it themselves. You might even want to investigate protecting your design!

Just be glad you did not get the wireless ones. Somebody else told me about them, so I'm glad I did not get them either!

OH, yep, for the desired purpose I would just have gotten a flat four female connector and just spliced it into the tow dolly lead in to plug magnetics into.
about $2.98.

Great idea Bobbo !!
In my case, the wiring on the lights wasn't long enough to get from the back of the car to the hitch. I guess I could have lengthed it, but I took a different approach and wired in a 4 pin plug that I wire tied to the dolly tongue right in front of the car bumper.
Your installation is cleaner though. One question, how do you keep the wiring from dangling, tie it to the tongue?

It only added about 6" or 8" so I loop it once around the tongue.
