Has anyone installed the Bargman Tail/Brake Led units.
The ones That are a replacement for the bulb and lens ( not the complete Assembly )...
Has a pig tail that plugs into the socket..

Any problems, Do you need any special electrical isolators...?

I replaced the entire unit-this was less money. No special isolators needed.I believe each plug in was around 35.00 and the backup cover was 10.00-the entire triple LED was around 60.00 plus shipping

Yes, I got the stop/tail and the clear overlay for the BU light. I really like them! They are bright and distinctive. Thinking of doing my TT too. I got mine from PPL Motors about a year ago. Prices may have dropped, haven't checked lately.

I did one trailer with the LED bulb to socket adapters, and another with just a complete tail light assembly. The bulbs only make a difference but since the lens is made for the diffusion of an incandescent bulb rather than direct refraction, the improvement with the whole thing was much better, and if I remember correctly not that much more. I also got them from PPL Motor Homes parts on line..FYI...Brian

I replaced mine with the single bulb and lens. The replacement was as simple as replacing the light bulb. Works great and is really bright.

I just did mine a few weeks ago, nothing special required... it's no more difficult that removing the lens to replace a bulb.

I got a better deal on them here:

http://www.ledtrailerlights.com/stt/led-insert.htm

i wasn't too impressed with the replacement backup lens because it's a red normal height lens thats fit in to a clear outer lens - that's how they make up the extra depth so it matches the depth of the LED unit. but I will definately do the LED units again on my next rig.

the backup light lens looks OK and all, it's just odd that it's two pieces of plastic sandwiched together. i can see that over time, dust may get between the two pieces and cloud it up.

maybe i will pull the backup lens and seal up the gap with some silicone or something to keep the dust out.

One of the big reasons i wanted the LED unit is because it is totally sealed, and I was forever taking the lenses off the light and cleaning the inside of the lens and fixture (and bulb) because dust gets in there during my many off highway forays!!

I got tired of having to constantly repairing my clearance lights. I replaced them all with LEDs. About two years, and no problem.

There are actually two Bargman backup lights with LEDs. Either the full white version (Part# 47-84-026) or the small white center with reflector surrond (Part# 42-84-414/47-84-414). BOTH of those have LED bulbs and are sealed like the tail lights.

What you installed was the incandescent upgrade that matches the height of the LED lights (Part# 47-84-711/48-84-711).

I have the LED tail lights but haven't made up my mind as to which of the LED backups to go with. I like the look of the all white but would need to install some type of reflector to maintain legality. I am leaning towards going with the all-white and adding red reflector tape to the jack legs. This would meet the DOT reflector requirement as well as mark exactly where the edge of my camper is.

I want to replace my stop/tail lights with these LEDs. My camper has the Bargman lights mounted vertically. I am concerned that the light output pattern may be optimized for horizontal mounting as that is all that I see on several websites. Anyone have these mounted in a vertical (backup light section above the stop/tail light) orientation? If so is there any problem with the light output pattern?
