Let's assume that we're taking the DC beltway. Besides 3:00 a.m. what would be the most reasonable time of day to do so, towing a 28 foot trailer. It will be a saturday.

Just about any time on Saturday will be the same. Early morning is better but it does not get bad in the afternoon. There can be accidents anywhere, so you may still get into a traffic jam.

Agreed, anytime Sat. or Sunday is not bad at all. AM will always be a tad faster. Fender bender can occur anytime and and will slow down the traffic flow.

Agree with other replies except avoid Sunday evenings because DC has a lot of folks who only go home on the weekends and they return to DC on Sunday evenings.

No worries on the weekend UNLESS there is a Redskins game, then there are extensive backups before and after the game on the MD portion of the Beltway.

There is no reason to dodge DC on the weekends. Not bad at all.

I'll go one better, before 11am. If you're going south that is. Since I live off VA exit 166 I see the southern end of the beltway every day. I'm afraid I can't help much going north. When I do head into MD I'd still stick with
"before 11am".
