I pull this 2001 grand cherokee behind our 07 Itasca suncruiser and love it.
My question/problem is when I stop unhook and go to drive the jeep the front wheels do not seem to want to work properly. When I'm making a turn either right or left they seem to make part of the turn and then "lock up" and skid the rest of the way. I noticed today that if I back up first after unhooking then it minamizes this effect or maybe it was just an accident today.
Thanks
Mi Bill

Sounds like you are in 4wd. We had a JGC once that the lever was out of adjustment; it would be in 4wd when the indicator said it was not.

No it is not the ball joints. I've also had this happen a few times on our 04 GC. It seems like it wants to stay in 4WD after shifting out of netural, so I just drive about 1/4 mile or so and accelerate then let foot off gas and then accelerate again, and it is now in 2WD. The manual mentions this in the part about going in and out of 4wd.

Dick

I had something simular to that happen to my 98 GC only it did it quit a lot. It turned out to be the viscus coupling in the tranfer case. That couple has to slip when you turn. I would deffinatly check the oil in it and if it is low or black it might need attension.
