I cooked a turkey for the first time yesterday on my new Camp Chef Ultimate Turkey Roaster. The turkey cooked as they said it would and was very tasty, howeverr it didnt have much eye appeal. It looked like it needed an appointment at tanning solon. The darn thing didn't brown at all. Did I do something wrong, or is this what I can expect? I cooked short ribs a while back, but i browned them prior to placing in the cooker. Appreciate any suggestions.

You can use a small hand torch to finish off anything that needs browning. You didn't do anything wrong. Just the nature of the cooking device.

Two tricks I use to give turkeys cooked in the UTR a more well-roasted appearance are brushing it with Kitchen Bouquet (a browning and seasoning agent) and using a dark-colored rub.

i made burgers the other night on the grill and then we decided we wanted frenchfries. so i pull out the manual on the sharp convection and we made fries for the first time. I thought it was pretty neat.

RT, one thing we discovered with ours is to NOT use any liquid like the instructions say. Also, as was said above, use a dry rub. Onethat has a reddish hue to it will also aid in browning.

Thanks everyone. I did add liquid and that I'm sure didn't help.
